Betya Gokhman, 88, of Cleveland Heights is a 1999 emigrant from Kiev, Ukraine. Evacuated from her Chernobyl home during World War II, she went on to pursue a career as an obstetrician/gynecologist in Ukraine before moving to the United States. Part of a series of interviews documenting the unique immigrant experience of Soviet Jews in northeast Ohio and explore issues of professional, family, and religious life.
