Vera Yudovina, 58, of Solon is a 1998 emigrant from Tashkent, Uzbekistan. The wife of Alex Bogorad, she grew up in St. Petersburg and came to the United States with her young family where she took up work as a computer programmer. She is the granddaughter of Solomon Iudovin, a photographer known for his documentation of shtetl life in the Pale of Settlement, the area of the Russian Empire to which Jews were restricted before the Russian Revolution of 1917. Iudovin accompanied S. An-sky on his pre-World War I expeditions through villages in the Russian Empire. Alex Bogorad, 58, of Solon is a 1998 emigrant from St. Petersburg, Russia.
