Mikhail Sonis, 65, of Twinsburg is a 1991 emigrant from Andijan, Uzbekistan. Coming from a childhood of passive anti-Semitism, he escaped from the Soviet Union after Islamists threatened his family. He currently works for a medical transport company. Part of a series of interviews documenting the unique immigrant experience of Soviet Jews in northeast Ohio and explore issues of professional, family, and religious life.
