Elina Mayzel, 89, of Mayfield Heights is a 1992 emigrant from St. Petersburg, Russia. Her father was arrested and executed during the Purge, and she herself endured eight months of the Siege of Leningrad during WWII. She came to the United States after the death of her husband. Part of a series of interviews documenting the unique immigrant experience of Soviet Jews in northeast Ohio and exploring issues of professional, family, and religious life.
